Biography

Councillor Tim Cheetham represents the Royston Ward in Barnsley, South Yorkshire. He was elected in May 2006 and his term of office expires in 2010. He is a member of the Labour Group. He is also the Cabinet Spokesperson for Corporate Services, which is responsible for issues relating to Information Based Services, Systems and Technology; Human Resources; Communications; Service Performance and Delivery; Policy & Co-ordination; Health and Safety; Emergency Planning; Organisational Development. He also sits on the following outside bodies:- Boulder Bridge Liaison Committee; LGYH Employers’ Committee; Regional Improvement and Efficiency Partnership; Standing Advisory Council on Religious Education.

He has honours degrees in English, Psychology and Politics and is a compulsive student and researcher. Tim is a passionate believer in the use of digital technologies to improve lives. He is himself an award winning blogger and social networker and strongly promotes the use of the web as a tool of communication and engagement.
