Biography
Following a long career in the entertainment and music industries as a producer/director of major events and TV, Andy has more recently been working in digital infrastructure and content distribution.
Andy returned to the North East in 2005 for a short period of consultancy with Codeworks, DOTT 07 and the Maghreb TV Channels in North Africa. Following a successful round of funding, Andy established the Broadband Computer Company. This company has launched the new easy-to-use, hassle-free safe computer product One of the first targets for this device is the Digitally Excluded sector, where the company has conducted much research and run trials incorporating the user feedback into the device and software recently launched in the North East known as alex - www.welcometoalex.com
Andy’s early career in entertainment brought sponsorship into entertainment with some of the very first examples of matching Brands with content. (Brands such as S&N Breweries, Alcan, Pernod). Later with Capital Radio, he created the long-lasting JVC Jazz Parade and the Coca-Cola Capital Radio Music Festival. As a TV producer he attained many credits for Major TV specials with artistes such as Miles Davis, Ray Charles, Paul Simon, Beach Boys, for major broadcasters Channel 4, LWT, Warner Music and PSB America
Whilst he was MD at Unique (now UBC Media plc) he created Proms in the Park and BBC Music Live for the BBC. He was also engaged on the EU Digital Watermarking Project (VIVA) in the late 90s.
Andy is also a Board member of Northern stage, a member of the Codeworks Connect Advisory Board and Chairman of Visual Energy
