Session: Tackling social exclusion through digital inclusion - a local perspective

Staffordshire Moorlands DC will explore its mainstreamed approach to Digital Inclusion and how this has enabled it to address social exclusion within the district, whilst also producing benefits for local communities and delivering efficiencies for the Council. Key areas of focus will include:

  • Developing partner relationships to help address social exclusion
  • How the Council has implemented its Digital Inclusion Strategy to reduce rural isolation
  • Utilising information management techniques to empower communities through access to information, improve service delivery and deliver customer insight at a community level.

Biography

Amanda Stringer works within the Transformation Team for Staffordshire Moorlands District Council which includes ICT, Procurement and Business Improvement.

Working as a Business Analyst she is responsible for delivering efficiencies and service improvement through the implementation of change within the Council.

This role has more recently been extended to deliver joint working via the Council’s Strategic Alliance with High Peak Borough Council. Amanda started her career as an IT Consultant providing project management and business analysis for the public and private sectors, before joining Staffordshire Moorlands DC in 2005.
