What is IT in the Community?

IT in the Community is a FREE to attend event demonstrating the use of digital technology and innovation to promote social inclusion. Taking place at the Sunderland Stadium of Light on Tuesday 1st and Wednesday 2nd December 2009, this interactive conference will engage, empower and develop all attendees.

Discussion, debate and networking are an important and integral part of the conference programme. There will be a number of oral presentations and workshops. For further programme information please click here.

Delegates will be shown examples of innovative community development approaches, and hear evidence of how putting local people and the community and voluntary sector at the heart of the decision-making process is a key factor in building cohesive and empowered communities.

Delegates will have the opportunity to view social and digital inclusion programmes from the public, private and third sector perspectives. They will hear of the radical interventions for Digital Equality currently championed by DC10plus – the Digital Inclusion Network. It also provides delegates with opportunities to engage, debate and network with like minded practitioners, and subject leaders in the form of workshops.
